This folder includes the QuickView™ application and a database that contains all of the information from the reference sections of Inside Macintosh: QuickTime Conferencing. Using QuickView you can instantly find function prototypes, parameter descriptions, constants, and data types. You can copy and paste code directly into your development environment, and locate related information using hypertext links.
Installing QuickView and the QuickTime Conferencing Database
The folder "QTC Database" contains the database (QuickTime Conferencing.qv) and the QuickView application. If you do not already own the Macintosh Programmer’s Toolbox Assistant, you can use the QuickView application and this database to view the online reference material. For best results, copy these files to your hard disk (they must reside in the same folder). The database file "Toolbox Assistant Help.qv" contains instructions for using QuickView. Help is available by selecting
Toolbox Assistant Help from the AppleGuide or BalloonHelp menu on the right side of the menu bar.
Installing QuickTime Conferencing Databases with
Macintosh Programmer’s Toolbox Assistant (MPTA)
The folder "For Toolbox Assistant" contains an updated master index database for owners of the Macintosh Programmer’s Toolbox Assistant. You should replace your copy of the file
" Routines A..Z and Mgr.qv" with the one in this folder, so that the QuickTime Conferencing managers and functions can be accessed from the master page. You also need to copy (or alias) the QTC database file (QuickTime Conferencing.qv) from the "QTC Database" folder to the MPTA folder on your hard disk. Note that you must be using the multiple database version of MPTA in order to incorporate the new master index database. If you are using the single database version of MPTA, you can add the QTC database to your MPTA folder but do not copy the master index database.

MPTA for MPW
The scripts in the "MPTA for MPW" folder allow you to access Macintosh Programmer’s Toolbox Assistant information from the MPW Shell. Using these scripts you can look up any term in the MPTA databases or retrieve the template for a function call. Instructions for installing MPTA for MPW are inside the folder.
MPTA Forwarder
The MPTA Forwarder application allows you to substitute QuickView for THINK™ Reference in applications or development environments that do not yet support QuickView directly. MPTA Forwarder is a faceless background application that translates Apple event messages. To use the application, simply drop it in your System Folder. This application is freeware and provided without support.
